Karen & James – Wedding – Saguaro Buttes

Karen & James had a lovely wedding tucked away in the beautiful desert scenery surrounding Saguaro Buttes. I photographed this wedding as a second photographer to my colleague Tim Nichols. One of many weddings we have done at Saguaro Buttes, we knew exactly where and how to get all the best photos for Karen & James. The two of them were such a nice couple and were wonderful to work with. This was my first wedding where the groom was in his Military uniform. As a strong supporter of our nation's heroes, I was honored to be able to capture James, a United States Marine, in full glory on his special day. Congratulations, Karen & James! :)

Maynard Family – El Barrio & Santa Cruz River Park

The Maynards were a pleasure to work with – such a nice family! We started off in the El Barrio Viejo district near downtown Tucson and then went across the freeway to an area along the Santa Cruz River Park. This shoot was very special for me as it was the first time I have photographed a proposal! When they told me about it, I was ecstatic! I was so happy to be able to capture those special moments for Thomas and Mo! Congratulations! :)

Jose & Catherine – Wedding – Celebrations Party Spot

We were very excited to hear that Jose & Catherine were getting married and wanted us to be their photographers! We had previously done a maternity shoot for Catherine for their adorable son, Alex (found pictured below). The two of them chose Celebrations Party Spot in Tucson for their ceremony and reception. With the help of Chance Calgher, my second photographer, and my girlfriend/assistant, Logan, I made sure to capture their special day from every angle from start to finish. We ended up with some awesome shots – I especially love the shots from the reception – some of my favorites of all time! Having been there for two of their major milestones, we hope to continue to be there to see the Estrada family grow for years to come (and get to photograph it!). Ashley – Senior Portraits – Agua Caliente Park

Photographing the Dobiecki family was fun – and interesting! The boys (and by boys, I mean the four grown men!) were a little troublesome to keep under control, but we got through it! =D Joking aside, we really did enjoy working with them and were happy to capture their family (and all of their quirkiness)! Luann and her children, Shelby and Nick, along with their adorable dogs, Lacey and Domino, gathered for a family photo shoot at Agua Caliente Park. Logan and I LOVE dogs so we were very excited to hear the shoot involved dogs! They were great models! But of course, Logan and I enjoyed working with the humans of the family too! We had a great time photographing all of them and would love to do so again in the future! All five of them were awesome! :)

Meli's Portraits — El Barrio Viejo

Meli, representative for the trendy LuLaRoe clothing company and proud mother of an adorable little guy named Owen, wanted to do a photoshoot to promote her LuLaRoe clothes (and to get a few family photos of course!). We did the shoot in the El Barrio Viejo district near Downtown Tucson and got a variety of lovely shots against this authentic scenery. Having always wanted to do a shoot here, I was excited! Logan and I loved working with Meli’s fun, friendly family and hope to work with them again in the future. :)

Catherine's Maternity Session — Empire Ranch

Catherine and José are expecting their baby boy Alex and are beyond excited about it. I was ecstatic to do their shoot at the charming Empire Ranch in Sonoita. The sun graced us with the perfect mix of sunrays peeking through the trees for some of my favorite shots from the shoot. Logan and I had a wonderful time working with Catherine and José and loved the ideas/props they came with! The balloons were my personal favorite – very cute! Chris and Jess had a gorgeous wedding at the wonderful Kingan Gardens in Tucson. Bonnie - Senior Portraits - Christopher Columbus Park

Bonnie chose Christopher Columbus Park for her photo shoot – I had never done photos there before but I definitely found a number of great little spots to capture her in as she nears the end of her senior year of high school. With Spring getting in to full swing, the greens-and-yellows are back, bringing the photos to life with vibrant color. A shot Bonnie really wanted was one of her walking with her cap-and-gown (see below), which I was more than happy to capture, placing her in front of the beautiful lake and palm trees there at the park. I really enjoyed getting to experience this new location and photographing Bonnie there. Henry & Phyllis - Engagement - Agua Caliente Park

Henry and Phyllis are getting ready to tie the knot in October of this year. We did an engagement photo shoot for this happy couple and I have to say it was one of my favorite photo shoots I’ve ever done! The two of them had such a great energy together and really connected and fueled the emotion that made for so many amazing shots during their shoot. When I say so many, I really mean SO MANY. We were able to capture TONS of beautiful photos of the two of them. They are such a photogenic couple, I hardly had to do much work – many of these photos are from me candidly capturing their natural love for each other. Logan and I really did have a great time on the shoot – Henry and Phyllis made it so much fun! We got up at the crack of dawn but it was certainly worth it to get the photos we did. I am so happy with how these photos turned out and even happier for Henry and Phyllis – congratulations to them! :)

Alejandra - Senior Portraits - Agua Caliente Park

Alejandra was our first senior to kick off the Spring season! She chose the colorful Agua Caliente Park for her session location. The lighting was spectatular that day with the setting sun glowing beautifully through a thin layer of clouds. Her white dress really popped against the vibrant colors in the ambience of the photos. It was nice to get back in the game for the Spring season and our shoot with Alejandra could not have gone any better! Congratulations, Alejandra! :)

Gallardo Family - University of Arizona

Our second time with the Gallardo family, we had a wonderful time photographing them on the beautiful UofA campus. Logan and I really enjoy working with them - the atmosphere is very fun and free. The boys of the family each came with Superman shirts tucked under their button-ups for a family Superman shot – it was awesome! Then we even got a photo of Colette with her Superman! But the fun didn’t end there… I thoroughly enjoyed photographing the boys play football towards the middle of the session, capturing pure, candid family fun! Just look at Xavier’s happy face holding that football (see below) – too cute! This shoot truly was fun. We look forward to hopefully working with the Gallardos again! :)

Bobby - Senior Portraits - Downtown Tucson

Bobby, a proud senior at Andrada Polytechnic High School in Vail, came to his senior portraits session prepared with his “Class of 2016” t-shirt. We did the shoot in Downtown Tucson, which was great because it was my first time doing a shoot there. We strolled along from spot to spot capturing Bobby in a variety of scenes. The urban feel of this location truly stands out from other work I have done, and I hope Bobby and his family are as ecstatic about the turnout as I am. Congratulations, Bobby! Travis - Senior Portraits - Reid Park

Travis’s shoot was special for me because he was the first male high school senior I’ve ever photographed! He chose Reid Park for the photo spot and we ended up getting an incredible amount of gorgeous photos! I loved the colors just beginning to lighten up from the soft beams of sunrise – I must say, the freezing cold at 730 AM was worth it (sorry, Travis!)! We definitely got a variety of shots, which I always love to do. I really liked the style of the ones against the brick wall – very cool. Travis is a senior at Andrada Polytechnic High School – as a former Vail student I always enjoy photographing students from that school district. He’s a bright young man with a passion for make-up artistry: I was happy to capture his personality during his photo session and hope him and his family are as pleased with the outcome as I am! :D Congratulations on your senior year, Travis! Never stop following your aspirations! :)

Kraykovich Family

Logan and I were really excited to do the Kraykovich family session because they got us clearance to do the shoot at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort! We did the entirety of the shoot in the back of the resort along the beautiful pathways there that lead to a gorgeous waterfall. Gregory was great throughout the shoot and found it fun to say, “Cheeeeeese!”, so that was great! He was the star of the shoot at the end having his own little photo-op, which is where we got that cute pose of him below (upper-right)! The Kraykovich’s are a fun, friendly family (thanks for showing us around, Iris!), and we hope to photograph them again! :D

Davies / Irwin Family - Agua Caliente Park

The Davies / Irwins were very fun to work with. Our session felt really comfortable and easy-going – it truly makes a difference when everyone is relaxed and just having a good time. Many of the photos I took were of candid moments I captured, which I always LOVE to get. Those real, un-staged expressions are simply beautiful. When Andrea told me the photos brought her to tears, I was overwhelmed with joy (they were good tears!) and a sense of accomplishment in the fact that I was able to capture photos that had such a powerful impact and meant so much to her and her family. We loved working with them and would be happy to again in the future. :)

Ingram / Carman / Tollefson Family

The Ingram / Carman / Tollefson family session was the biggest family we’ve done yet! We loved working them during the shoot and capturing moments for them to cherish and share for generations. It was a tad bit chilly on the shoot (okay, freezing), but the overcast cloud coverage allowed for a soft backlight that came out wonderfully. It was our first time getting to do a shoot at La Paloma, so that was exciting! Despite the cold, we took many great photos of this fun, lively family. Hey – you can’t see the temperature in photos! All in all, I don’t think our session could have gone any better. :)

Hidalgo Family - University of Arizona

The Hidalgos live overseas in Japan and contacted us to set up a photo shoot while they were here for the holidays. We were more than happy to get them into our schedule and do their family photos! We decided to do the shoot at the University of Arizona campus. It was the first time we had ever done a shoot there, but being a full-time student there, I always pass by these little spots that I think would make for great pictures! I was definitely excited for it. Their baby girl, Avery, was great during the shoot – everything went smoothly. We were able to capture plenty of beautiful moments during the session. Colette was very excited to do this shoot because a professional photo of her family was long overdue! I too was eager to do the photos because I think photos are so important to have – I am always overjoyed to be the one who provides a family with everlasting photos to cherish and share forever. Colette, her husband, brother, parents and three handsome boys all came to the shoot in fantastic-looking outfits, ready to go! All of them were quite photogenic and made for a smooth shoot that allowed for us to get not one, but many, beautiful photos. Colette has another shoot scheduled with just her husband and their sons. The Judd’s came to our studio for their first holiday family photos with their new little girl, Kylie. The four of them looked great and were a pleasure to photograph. Kylie and James each have these big, wonderful eyes that really pop in the studio - add in their genuine smiles and they’re as cute as can be! Less than 2 months ago, we had the opportunity to photograph little Faith when she was just barely two weeks! Carolina's Quince Session - Agua Caliente Park

In celebration of turning 15, Carolina and her family wanted to do a photo shoot to capture her at this special milestone in her life. Most importantly, she wanted to get photos in her beautiful quince dress! They chose Agua Caliente as the location for the photos and were overjoyed to do the shoot there. Indeed, the fall colors popped gorgeously against Carolina’s dress and other outfits. We were lucky enough to get a cloudy day which granted us soft, beautiful light – and even luckier to not have the occasional sprinkle not turn in to a heavy pour! We really love the photos we captured of Carolina and as always are happy to give this nice family a collection of photos to cherish and share for a lifetime. :)

Dean's Photo Session 2015 - Agua Caliente Park

When Dean’s grandma, Sheree, reached out to me wanting to get photos of him done as a Christmas present to Dean’s mother, Megan, I was ecstatic! I photographed the little guy’s 1^st birthday in February and remember having so much fun simply because I get overwhelmed by his cuteness! Sheree chose Agua Caliente Park for the portraits, and what a good choice it was – the colors were beautiful and I think they went really well with his jean/sweater outfit. So far Megan has only seen the sneak peeks of the photos above, but there are plenty more! Much more cuteness yet to be seen! Logan and I enjoyed working with Dean, as always, and had lots of fun on the shoot with his grandparents! We are beyond pleased with the turnout of his photos. I hope we get to photograph him more as he grows up – he’s one awesome model! Merry Christmas, Megan and Dean! :)

Carlos Jr.'s Photo Session - Studio

Carlos and Amanda’s little bundle of joy was born on the 21^st of November 2015. They named him Carlos Jr., after his father. Amanda wanted to do his newborn photos on his 7^th day of life, which we fortunately were able to do! I was instantly excited when they arrived to their session, hands full with blankets and outfits! I say again-and-again how I love when clients bring a variety of accessories and ideas with them to their shoot. This allowed us to get a multitude of diverse photos of the adorable little guy. I myself was overwhelmed by the cuteness of many of the photos; I can only imagine how his parents feel! From the “First Thanksgiving” shots to the Christmas and beach/sea ones, we certainly captured numerous photos of their precious first child in this special, once-in-a-lifetime early stage in his life. I hope I have the opportunity to photograph Carlos Jr. in the future as he reaches other milestones in his life! Congratulations, Amanda and Carlos! :)

Gentry Sisters' Photo Session - Mt. Lemmon

Logan and I had a great time working with Shelby, Emily and Abby during their photo session on Mt. Lemmon. It was actually our first ever shoot on Mt. Lemmon and we were beyond satisfied with the beauty of the locations we chose! The fall colors certainly popped in many of the photos (as seen below). The three sisters did awesome during their session, picking up on posing techniques so well that they were natural models practically doing my job for me by the end! More than that, they had such a great, positive energy together that made photographing them feel so much more natural and easy, in a way. I certainly love how the pictures turned out. With the holidays around the corner, the sisters did their session as a gift to their parents for Christmas. What a wonderful present this collection of photos will be! :)

Zavier's Photo Session - Agua Caliente Park

Zavier’s photo session was a blast! First off, he is just simply adorable. Logan and I had loads of fun working with him on the shoot. Photogenic as he is, I found myself “trigger-happy” snapping away, which resulted in many wonderful shots. Zavier’s mother came prepared with lots of toys and props for the shoot, which, as I always say, really helps the photos come alive and just look so much better. Half of the shoot was Christmas-themed (seen in the second collage below), while for the other part, Zavier was one cool little dude – leather jacket, motorcycle and all. I absolutely loved the shots of him on his ‘cycle; some are a few of my favorite shots ever! Indeed, I was overly pleased with the outcome of his session. The photos are going to be a surprise for Zavier’s father who is away serving on an assignment with the Air Force. What a pleasant surprise that will be! Zavier’s photos are just too cute to not smile at - scroll down and see for yourself! :)

Jasmine's Senior Portraits - Agua Caliente Park

Jasmine, a senior at Empire High School, chose to do her senior portraits at Agua Caliente Park - it was our first senior portraits session for the class of 2016, and it couldn’t have gone any better! As Logan and I are both former Vail students and current Vail residents, we always enjoy providing beautiful photos for fellow members of the Vail community, and the photos we captured of Jasmine during this important milestone of her life were nothing short of beautiful! We were able to get a lot of variety from the shoot – which is something I always love. I was happy to also capture some photos of Jasmine and her boyfriend, Chris, as well as some of her and her mother, Christen. Those are always nice little extras that they’ll have to look back on forever! All on all, the shoot went wonderfully and I am very pleased with the finished photos. Congratulations, Jasmine!

Amanda's Maternity Session - Agua Caliente Park

Amanda’s maternity session with her fiancé, Carlos, went better than I could have hoped! It was my first maternity shoot ever, so I was a little nervous – but I think it went splendid and we captured numerous beautiful photos in the short time we did the shoot! I was very happy that the two of them came prepared with various photo props and ideas – that always makes for better photos and I love it! From little boots to a “welcome aboard” lifesaver to their ultrasound pictures, we had plenty of options for photos! Logan and I really enjoyed working with Amanda and Carlos; they’re a wonderful couple and have a great energy together. That energy and love undoubtedly shines in these photographs (see below) – a love that will grow as they continue their journey together – soon to be a family of three! Shayna's Grad Photos - Reid Park Tucson

Shayna is graduating from Brookline College as a Patient Care Technician and wanted to get some photos done in her cap & gown in celebration of her achievements! She came prepared to her shoot with props and ideas, which is something I always LOVE when clients do. She brought confetti for the shot seen below in the mid-right – my personal favorite, and she even brought a Superman shirt that made for more fun, creative shots. Avery's Newborn Session - Studio

Avery’s first photo shoot was a success! Adorable as she is, her photos came out as cute as can be. She was a little camera shy for her first time but it will only be a matter of time until she’s a silly little model like her sister, Alyson! I was happy to capture baby Ave’s newborn photos for her family to have and look back on as she continues to grow. I hope to photograph her again in the future as she reaches more milestones – it’s truly a pleasure to document a child’s journey growing up and I would love to do that with Avery (and Alyson!) for Alisa and Andrew. Faith's Newborn Session - Studio

For Faith’s newborn session, her parents Kailee and Randy chose to do a shoot in our professional studio. It was our first newborn session ever AND our first shoot in our studio since setting it up! Nevertheless, the session went terrific and gave us a number of adorable photos of Faith (see all the cuteness below!). The session went very smooth and we were able to get a fair variety of photos of the precious little one. When photographing newborns, essentially it’s the baby who is in charge – you have to be patient in order to get great photos, and that is exactly what we did! I am very pleased with the photos we captured of Faith – it makes me happy when I capture photos for a nice couple like Kailee and Randy who will have these photos of their little baby girl forever! :)

Marquis's 1st Birthday - Reid Park Tucson

I could not have been more pleased with how Marquis’s turning-one photo session turned out. It had been a while since the last time I did a shoot at Tucson’s Reid Park, but we were certainly able to find some beautiful scenery - and it being overcast in the late afternoon, the lighting was simply gorgeous. Marquis was a happy little guy and had the kind of fun, silly personality that makes for great photos. We all had a great time on the shoot. I hope we get to photograph him again in the future! He’s like a little model – definitely a joy to photograph. All in all, I am more than happy with the end result of this photo shoot. Happy 1^st birthday, Marquis!

Nickerson Family - Agua Caliente Park

The Nickerson family has just welcomed a new member of the family into the world – their baby girl Avery. To capture their new family-of-four, we did a photo session at Agua Caliente Park. Fischer-Steinkraus Family - Agua Caliente Park

The Fischer-Steinkraus family came ready for our photo-shoot at Agua Caliente Park with a set of adorable outfits and matching smiles. Lucca was a bit camera-shy starting out but it wasn’t long before he was a lively little fella. It was a joy getting to photograph the Fischer-Steinkraus’s. The love of their family truly radiated through the photographs I captured. The father-son photos in the Alabama attire were simply adorable, but then again – any photo with little Lucca is a photo to smile at. His fun, silly personality practically leaps out of the photos below. Altogether, I am pleased with how I captured the personality of their little family – I think the photos show it pretty well. :)

Alisa & Alyson - Mommy & Me - Agua Caliente Park

Alisa and Alyson were a pleasure to photograph at the beautiful Agua Caliente Park. The theme of the shoot was “Mommy & Me”. We started shooting just moments after the sun peeked over the mountains, giving us the beautifully gleaming sunray in the photo on the middle-left (below). Alyson was simply adorable in her little pink overalls, but what really made some of the photos “too cute” was Alyson’s cheerful smile (as seen in various photos below). This was my first baby/toddler portrait session AND maternity session and I am very happy with how it turned out. I hope I get to photograph Alyson again in the future because she has a happy spirit that is just a joy to photograph. Alisa’s next baby girl, Avery, is on the way – it’s only a matter of time before she’s getting ready for her photo-shoot. :)

Samantha & Jesse - Wedding - St. Matthew's Episcopal Church

Samantha and Jesse vowed to forever love and cherish one another on Saturday, August 22^nd, 2015 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. This sacred day in which their marriage was blessed will forever be etched in their hearts and memory. I was honored to capture each moment of their special day through the beauty of photographs. One thing I am passionate about when it comes to photographing weddings is capturing the day from various angles and perspectives. Thus, I always bring a 2^nd photographer to truly cover the entirety of the celebration. Working alongside me at Samantha and Jesse’s wedding was Chance Calgher, a gifted fellow artist who is responsible for several of the beautiful images below. Following the ceremony, rain began to fall and a storm began to brew outside, so we thought it best to keep the bride and wedding party indoors for the formal photos. Nevertheless, the venue provided a peaceful setting for the photos. I think they turned out wonderfully. Congratulations to Samantha and Jesse!

Ryan's 1st Birthday

Ryan celebrated his 1st birthday with an awesome Disney "Cars" themed party! I photographed his exciting day mostly by following him around on hand-and-knee. He found the life of the party to be in the balloons, which kept him occupied for a good while before he began to get tuckered out. When it was time for his smash cake, he started off a little slow - but it wasn't long before he was wrist-deep in icing and had half the cake on his face! We asked him how old he was now and in the picture below (middle-left) he proudly gave his answer.

Alpha Kappa Psi - Banquet Event - Desert Diamond Casino

The Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity at the University of Arizona held their banquet at the Desert Diamond Casino. They had a beautiful setup in the ballroom with an awesome theme: James Bond 007. The tables even had playing cards scattered over them! The Bond Franchise is actually my favorite movie franchise of all time – so I though this theme was pretty cool. They gave awards with titles referring to the 007 movies, such as “Goldfinger” and “The Spy Who Loved Me”. The awards were for anything from “best hair” to “best dressed” and so on. The award recipients were even given a little toy water pistol with their recognition – just great! Following the awards, the dance floor livened up. When the DJ turned up the beat, the lights went dim and the house let loose – footloose, that is. It was fun getting to photograph everyone having a good time. We did a little “photo booth” session for most of the event, which was fun. I think the photos speak for themselves there. All in all, I think everyone had a great time – some a little more than others. It was an awesome event to be at and I was thrilled to shoot it.

The Kitzmiller Family - Gallery in the Sun

The Kitzmillers were a blast to photograph - such a beautiful family! They chose the Ted Degrazia Gallery in the Sun as the spot for their photos, and it was magnificent. There were vibrant desert colors all around us, as well as great artsy scenery outside the gallery. The four of them make up a fun, lively family, thus making for some great candid photos! Little Jake and Amelia were especially cute, about as silly as can be. The photos turned out nicely and truly glow with the character of this nice family.

Kayla & Tyler - Wedding - Saguaro Buttes

On February 13, 2015, Kayla and Tyler both said, “I do”, and thus began their lifelong journey together. They had a beautiful wedding at Saguaro Buttes and a lively reception following the ceremony. It was a lovely wedding to photograph and I really enjoyed doing so. Working with my fellow photographer, Chance Calgher, we were able to capture the day moment-by-moment without missing a beat. Wolcott Grandkids - Wigwam Resort

The Wolcott grandchildren all got together on a nice day in Phoenix for some photos for their grandparents, Fran and Karen. The bunch of them, seven in total, looked great together in their coordinated outfits (thanks Grandma). We did the photos at the Wigwam Golf Resort in a shaded grassy area. After we took some nice photos of them all together, they had a wild “snowball” fight (thanks Uncle Jay), which was just as fun to photograph as I bet it was to be a part of. It was a fun little shoot and I enjoyed capturing it!

Kayla & Tyler - Engagement - Agua Caliente

Kayla and Tyler are two young lovers who will have been together for six years this May, and are now ready to tie the knot. They are having their wedding in February and wanted to do a little engagement session to have some photos to send out with their invitations. They have a strong connection and romantic energy that you can really feel, even through their photos. The photo shoot turned up numerous beautiful, vibrant photographs for them to cherish and share as their wedding date gets closer.

Lauren - Senior - Agua Caliente

Lauren is a senior at Cienega High School. She chose to do her photo-shoot at the beautifully peaceful Agua Caliente Park. The extensive two-hour session lasted from late afternoon to sunset, allowing us to get many amazing shots in various areas around the park. Lauren was looking for a candid feel to some of her photos, which we captured excellently during the shoot.
